Join movement to buy local
These are hard economic times. Many of us are tightening our belts. As we think about buying gifts for the holidays, how can we best spend our money?
Consider dropping catalog shopping, and instead buy locally. Here’s why: It keeps money here, money in the pockets of business owners and their employees who are our neighbors, friends, and clients, customers, students, patients and church members.
You can find plenty of variety here in the 7 Rivers Region: Sporting goods, books, keepsakes, clothes, clocks, jewelry, wines, furniture, art, food. And there are no shipping charges. Of course, a gift card is always the right fit!
Another option, which benefits the local economy: Make a donation to a local charity as a gift to a family member, friend, employee, boss. We all benefit when the EcoPark, Public Library, Hixon House, United Way, YMCA, WAFER, etc. are economically strong.
Buying locally is the green thing to do, too. It saves the fuel needed to ship an item across the county, and deliver a single package to your home. Join the “buy local” movement. It is good for our community. Happy shopping.
thanks lady! we'll see you all at kick, soon!
